Join us for our first annual Heathens In the Woods Camp Out sponsored by the Web of Wyrd Hall.
We're planning a weekend of story telling, Blot and Sumble Viking Games or just a weekend relaxing in the beautiful woods of Barnwell State Park in Blackville SC.

Events planned for Heathens In The Woods
While this is a work in progress to get the schedule set for our first camp out, we also want to set the tone for this to continue.
We really need the community to tell us what THEY want. This Moot is not for Web of Wyrd alone. It is for the Asatru. Heathen and Norse Pagan Community.
Some of the events being considered are:
Viking Games. Archery, Hatchet and Knife throw. And the Hammer throw. All the events except possibly the hammer throw will be Co-Ed. That means the only separation will be by age group. The hammer throw will have 2 weights of hammers. An 8 lb and a 16 pound. There will be a separation by sex, however any one CAN throw either hammer and win. IF they can!
Education: We plan on having short classes on the Lore, and, well what ever folks would like. We will need folks that know stuff to please step up and share your knowledge
Auction.: One of the plans we have for our future camp out s. We want this to grow. To Involve the entire South Carolina Heathen Community. Folks have heard me describe the Southwest Frith Moot that my old Kindred had the honor of helping to host with Wanderer Kindred of Arizona. My brother (And he is truly my oath brother) Vince Enlund and I wanted to keep Frith Moot Free. Vince laid the ground work for the moots. One thing we wanted, was to keep the moot free for all heathens in the Southwest. This was done by a crafters auction. Crafts folk from all over donated items to the moot. And these were auctioned off to the people attending. All the proceeds went to fund the next years Frith Moot. This ensured that all people could attend who could make it. We would love to expand the Heathens In The Woods into a state wide event. And do it so that all heathens that want can attend a moot with our shelling out money to just walk in the gate. We need craft folk to donate items so that we can auction them and fund next years Moot.
Camp Chef Competition: We are having a Camp Chef Competition for our first Moot.
Our first annual camp cook out at our first moot. Show off your grilling camp fire or dutch oven techniques and you may hold the bragging rights on the South Carolina Heathen Community
The rules are simple.
Cook what you want. Entree either vegetarian or meat, side dish, desert. Sorry no tossed green salads, unless they are Michelin Star worthy!! We do have standards!
Entries must be cooked on site.
Prep work can be done at home.
A label with complete ingredients must be plainly displayed.
Participants will be assigned a number and the folk will vote. The person with the most votes wins!
There will be awards for the top three entries, and certificates for all that participate, so bring your A game and your best cast iron and lets get cooking!
Tentative schedule of events (all times and events are flexible. We will run on HST (Heathen Standard Time 😀) Classes, seminars, round table discussions and demonstrations
Friday March 27th:
Noon(Ish) Event opening and land blessing. Chuck and Tara and any who wish to participate
1:00 Lunch and setup camp sites
5:00 What is Heathens in the Woods? And Frith Grith and the Rules of the Moot.
6:30 Dinner
8(ish) Mead and Cookies (Stole this from my brother Vince!) And discovering the secrets of the universe!
Saturday March 28th
10:00 HiW Viking Games
Noonish or so Lunch
1;00 to 4:00 Classes Demo Discussions or relaxing in the woods.
4:00 Prep of the Camp Cook Out
5:00 Community Blot and Dinner WoW provides main course Pot luck for sides
6:45 Judging and Awards of the Camp Cook Out
7:15 Viking Games Award
7:45(ish) Auction
Sunday March 29th
10:00 Site Cleanup
11:00 Event closing and departure
Leave the forest BETTER than you found it. Web of Wyrd and all Heathens feel very strongly about the connection with the Land-Vaettir of the areas we occupy. If there is trash already at the site, please just clean it up. Do not expect someone else to do what you can do for yourself.
Do not trample on the creatures that already live there. They are the Land-Vaettir.
Keep your drinking under control. Remember the old wisdom on this one.
All of our behavior is reflected in our reputation in the community. Remember that – because everyone else will.
