Kindred Mission Statement And Bylaws

1. Mission Statement.

The mission of this Hall is to honor the Norse Pagan/Proto Germanic gods and goddesses. To work closely with the Landvaetter and our Ancestors. To build a community with like-minded people who share Forn Sidr beliefs and values. If we do not fit your needs, we will send you to right kindred. Web of Wyrd is a learning and spiritual Hall. We are not a warrior/drinking /larp kindred. For us to accomplish this, we strive to promote respect and understanding of our beliefs and traditions. We also strive to connect with the pagan community. We also strive for clear communication between us and other kindreds, when we need to communicate. This hall is a community who share common interest, who want to have a deeper understanding of the mysteries of the Northern European peoples to find harmony with the land spirits and to honor their ancestors. We welcome those who seek to reconnect with the traditions, values, beliefs, and discover their path so, we all can walk it together, no matter who we are

2. Web of Wyrd goals and values.

As a Hall we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, fostering towards everyone’s individual needs. We commit ourselves to preserving and promoting traditions, values and beliefs of the Proto Germanic and Old Norse. We understand that connecting with ancestors is a private and challenging concept. Sometimes going back to Ancestral ways means looking at yourself as a individual, confronting old belief systems, distortions, and also the perversion of our symbols and mythology and make it ours again. We foster an environment of learning and growing, while building mutual respect, support and understanding. We build bonds of kinship through honor, hospitality and community. Education and spiritual growth is our main objective. We also provide a safe space for guest, regardless of who they are and their beliefs. The current social climate and politics stops at our door. If we have worries and need to talk by all means we will make time for you. We are people of many colors, we do not see gender, we do not see sex or sexual orientation. We see the character, integrity, morals, Hamingja and actions of a person. If we don’t mesh, we deal with it and send you off to better fitting kindred.

3. Hall Bylaws

1. Purpose: the purpose of this kindred is to represent the Forn Sidr, in modern day heathenry.

2. Membership: is opened to anyone who honors the Norse gods and goddesses. Must be willing to uphold the bylaws and contribute to the kindred through knowledge, learning and values. We do not oath to anyone but our path, ancestors and the gods/desses.

3. Leadership: To be in leadership you must show that you have more then a basic knowledge of Forn Sidr. You must be able to perform rituals, uphold the bylaws. Be able to oversee activities, must be voted in by kindred members. You must learn and prove yourself for the position. We do not hand out titles unless you have worked for them and proved yourself.

4. Gatherings: we do not have to hold regular gatherings, just for the 3 major blots and special occasions, we would like to participate in within Web of Wyrd, Pagan Alliance of Lowcountry, other pagan groups or other kindred gatherings. When at other gatherings you must conduct yourself in a respectful matter, or leadership will ask you to leave. If we are disrespected at a gathering we will leave. We will talk to leadership and hash it out and decide from there.

5. Hall Meetings: depending on members should be held at least every two months. The meetings will consist of fellowship, learning, Hall matters, a meal or snacks. More can be added or excluded. 6. Rituals: Historically we have 3 major blots and little celebrations in between. Each kindred member will be able to learn and make their own rituals and perform it when ready. With help of the leadership if needed

.7. Conflicts: All members will not act in a derogatory manner out in public as a kindred or wearing kindred merchandise. We do not spew negativity and do not want it. If conflict between members happens, leadership will handle it. On a spiritual level the Gothi/Gythia will handle it. If conflict happens between other groups and kindreds leadership of both parties will handle it.
